New Filter Specs

We’ve got great news! Our water filters have updated ratings for removal of THM’s (Trihalomethanes), Fluorinated Organic Acids (PFOA & PFOS), and microplastics! Plus, the filter nozzle has been lengthened for easier assembly! Way to go Aquacera!

    Hi Chris,
I recently moved to Mexico near lake Chapala. I’ve been shopping for a counter-type water filter for my drinking water. I live in an area where the water supply is “the worst” in the area. I’ve narrowed my research choices to the Big Berkey or the Nikken Pi filtration system. Today while researching I came upon Aquacera. I can’t find any ratings/comparisons on your product. Also, I read where I may have to change the filter once every 3 months. I know I can’t put a price on health, but the filter changes really add up compared to Berkey. Any comments? Thank you,

      Hi Beth,

We’ve revised our conservative estimate to every 6 months in case of heavy particulates. We find that almost all customers wait a year or longer to replace their filters. We’ve found that after following up with certain customers who order more frequently, it was most of the time a matter of them not sufficiently scrubbing the filters with a scotch brite pad.

Regarding product comparisons, we are unfortunately unaware of any research done to compare the different commercial brands with our own handmade water crocks. However Aquacera itself might have a comparison review, they produce stainless steel water filtration systems commercially.

I hope this helps, feel free to contact us with more questions!
